La Tomatina es la fiesta más internacional de España, se celebra el último miércoles del mes de agosto en Buñol, Valencia.

¿Qué se hace en la Tomatina?

La respuesta no es tan obvia como parece. La Tomatina no es simplemente ir a tirar tomates, sino que es un día repleto de actividades que comienzan a las 9 de la mañana con un pequeño almuerzo cortesía del Ayuntamiento de Buñol.

A las 10:00 empieza el llamado “Palo Jabón”. Un palo enjabonado que tiene un jamón en lo más alto. ¿Habrá alguien que supere el reto del jabón y consiga el ansiado premio?

Si te has quedado sin jamón puedes desahogarte con el evento más esperado del día. Justo después del Palo Jabón, a las 11:00, aproximadamente, empieza la batalla más internacional del mundo: ¡La Tomatina!

Cómo llegar a la Tomatina

Buñol está perfectamente comunicada para que puedas venir cómodamente en Tren, Autobús o Coche propio.

Te recomendamos que planifiques con antelación tu viaje para evitar problemas de última hora en los accesos. Ten en cuenta que es una fiesta multitudinaria.

The lockers facilities and exchange to wrist band could be better. Both as to manpower and also area located for these facilities. It is too hectic with that many people and less time. Also the guidance can be better as til saying be there from 7 onwards because if you arrive at 9 am or later, you will miss out ok several festivitas. A proper map with location of the events would be desireable

A little bit too crowded which makes it dangerous when the trucks arrive. Some people were pushing which was not good based on security aspects. It would also be good to inform more regularly to everyone to squeeze the tomatoes before throwing them to make the event more pleasant!

It was greate, but I think there are thinks, that can be easily done to make it even better: -marks for the queue (I wasn't sure if I'm standing in a right one) -sectors for bages (like A, B, C,...) than people can remember where their belongings are -more toilets -boost public transport (there were some problems with trains)

Loved the experience, but have some ways to make it better. 1. The communication even for a Spanish speaker was poor. We didn’t know there was a lake. We had to ask a lot of people where to go. There was a lack of signage and everyone crammed into the front of the streets making it tough for the first trucks. Had it been a little more transparent that we weren’t being let in it may have been easier. 2. We were unaware of a lake to shower off. Most were not aware of this. All and all a great experience otherwise.

No instruction signs available throughout the town. We had to figure out different processes to get a locker, food, event site, and where to find each location all by ourselves.

Last year I went with my sister and my partner and had the time of our life. This year we went with 17 friends and family and I’m sure that the group will be bigger next year because of our experiance . We laughed so much! Everybody had a great time!

Event was fun, Also, packing 15,000 tourists in two streets, and throwing tomatoes at them from the truck is not what I expected the tomato fight would look like. All pictures present La Tomatina as a tomato fight with freedom to run in the streets, while having loads of fun. That's false advertising! Instead, for the price of ticket, we get to be pushed to the wall and made to stay there until the end of the event.

While the overall experience was good as always, there needs to be some form of security to avoid potential dangerous situations from stampeding or people being crushed. All this was coming from large groups of Indians causing the problems, which has been happening for past few years. The very least can be done is limit those from that country.

Awesome event, we had a fantastic day. Post event facilities could do with some improvement. Queue for shower/hose down was longer than 45 minutes, and queue to collect bags was also greater than 45 minutes.

The event itself for throwing tomatoes was fun. However, if the amount of people going in isn't accounted for I think I'm a few years it will be impossible for trucks to pass through as they barely had a room with the crowd smashing against each other like the front of a Metallica concert. Some girls had panic attacks and couldn't breathe easily due to pressure from other people on them. I have some ideas on how to make things more organized if you want to hear them.
